The Music Box by Jake Henson

What do you do when the music box stops
And there's no way to start it again?
Do you focus on silence and what is no more
Or take solace in the song that has been?

When the curtain has fallen and the symphony ends
And the conductor's concluded his show
Will you leave with a heart full of wonder and awe
Or allow seeds of sorrow to grow?

Buried beneath the pain we all feel
Is the peace of a promise so grand
This life insists and demands that we fall
But there's a great rock upon which we stand

The first song may fade from our imperfect ears
As the last notes have drifted away
But a higher melody has taken its place
And forever the music will play

Jake Henson is a rootin', tootin' South Texas cowboy by day, poet, and singer/songwriter by night. God's goodness in the midst of a fallen world is the inspiration for many of Jake's works.
