Seasons of the Soul by Joel Holland

equinox
& solstice,

coastline bound
high-tides & low

hibernating habitats
shifting slowly

on an axis. angled trees
gaining traction, growing

bright blazing flavone,
lycope, & finally, dead brown leaves

crumble under our feet
in their due timing

as we walk, one turn at a time,
where the only forgotten prayers are the ones

we forgot we whispered. precipitation,
& photosynthesis point to redemptive design,

where “come as you are,” does not mean
“stay that way.”

Joel Holland is the oldest of four kids to parents that were told having children was "biologically impossible" and loves finding new ways to express his gratefulness.
