A Renewed Creation by Alisha Loiseau

I want to question your benevolence.
Question your faithfulness and love.
But such is the tactic of the enemy.

To make me question your character,
And the truthfulness of your Word,
To turn away and forsake my place.

To forget my status in your kingdom.
To run from your arms and into a pit.
To seek fullness in things that cannot fill.

Give me new eyes, Lord.
To see past present circumstances,
And witness your glory through my pain.

Give me a new mouth.
To speak of your unbroken record,
And praise regardless of obstacles.

Give me a new nose.
To smell the aroma of your presence,
And breathe in the joy your Son granted me.

Give me new ears.
To be attentive to your voice,
And wait to hear your approval.

Remold what is already yours.
Have the seat within my heart.
Pin your will and desires on it.

Discard anything that displeases you.
Spirit of God, take the reins of my will.
Holy Spirit, restore, release and renew.

My name is Alisha Loiseau; I'm 19 years old and a sophomore at Broward College, Florida. I was born and raised in Haiti and only recently moved to the States. For me, writing isn't just a way of glorifying God for the talent he's given me, but also a way of tapping into and expressing emotion. It's a tool, one that can entertain and insight the world. When I'm not writing, I explore new foods and museum hop.
