Resting in Him Poem by Deb Daniel

To sleep in the calm sea

Be still and know He protects

Take a nap in the storm

A peaceful surrender

Tonight a Rock will be my pillow

Patience and peace

Strength In imprisonment

14 years of service and now they remember me

Lord, you remember me?

In Your arms I find rest

To sleep in heavenly peace

I held broken plans

You held broken things

You held me broken

Wherever I am You are

You are part of me

It’s ok for my picture perfect dream to vanish

Reality is still extraordinary

The duality is powerful

The duality in our nature

Strength in our weakness

Careful and careless

Fearless and fearful

I’m the same person but then duality exists

Harsh and soft

He found me before I was lost

‘I was Yours before I was not’.

The Lord is my only constant

He is consistent with His love

With His faithfulness

His supply of Grace never ceases to amaze me

I know I don’t deserve His love

But He continues to find me.

Step forward He says,

Would you jump if I told you,

Go where I move you,

Sing where I lead you,

My respond remains that I’ll trust you with my whole heart

Love you with every breath

As my love for you exists out of the bounds of matrimony

Wherever you go, I’ll go Lord

Wherever you sow, I’ll grow

7000 days spent with you

Every day I grow more in love with your ways

I promise I love You more than anything and anyone

For good times and bad

I do

I’ll meet you at the altar

Sing me out of my deepest sleep

Then sing me a lullaby

And then dry my eyes as I cry at your beauty

I’ll sleep this silent night

Knowing you’re at my side

My love is called Emmanuel

Matthew 1:23 - Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God with us.

My name is DB Daniel, I am a 19-year-old writer that resides in the West Midlands, UK. Besides poetry, I love to write novels.
