Oh, Father! by Abuchi Onyema

What do I stand to gain in this vicinity,

When all life is vanity?

I struggle with futility.

If I don't have God as my solid Rock

even in my comfort,

Like Solomon, I still feel scarce.

Oh, God of purification!

Come to my sanctification.

Impossibility is not an option;

Oh, God, I need You.

I am nobody in your presence,

but I know you're a God of grace.

Will you deny me of your blessing?

Have mercy on me, Oh, God.

Save me from this calamity

and make heaven my priority.

Oh, God,

may You come soon

so that my joy will be for eternity.
