Living Water by Nancy Lee Bethea

A constant current for body and soul,

You are Living Water.

You cleanse my sin and humanity’s ills,

If I let you wash me.

Stains of man’s wrongs against man

Leave residues of unwise choices,

Scars from gaping gashes of limited ideas and their consequences,

A creation condemned.

But You are Pure Restoration.

You are Living Water.

Nancy Lee Bethea directs the Creative Writing program at LaVilla School of the Arts, a magnet middle school, in Jacksonville, Florida. She is also hard at work writing her first young adult novel. When she's not writing in one of her many journals, she's probably searching for a quiet spot to do some reading.
