The Hearth Light by Caitlin N. Pate

Keep the hearth aglow, My darling;

Don’t let it fade.

Let it warm the room

And illuminate the window Like a beacon

To guide me

Home to you.

To you

I trudge this weary path From the harsh and cold Grasp of the world

Back to you

And your soft embrace,

Waiting at the door

Of the house and pit

You have made

A home and hearth.
