Hidden by Trudy Samsill

[Inspired by Psalm 31 & 32]

Laid bare in doubt and fear and grief
Trouble hovers near
Longing for a place to rest
Safety not found here

Uncovered heart, in beating rhythm
Reveals the raw, the real, the weak
Shelter for this beat-up heart
Is all my soul doth seek

Exposed in an open field of sorrow
Tears my food, my fill
Hoping for the One who sees

My heart, my soul reveal

Surrounded, suddenly, in my pain
Hand firmly clasping mine
The flood of hope, the wash of peace
My hand enfolded Thine

Sequestered from the tear-drenched field
Carried to the cleft I hide
I leave behind the sorrow, fear
Herein Your peace abide

Sheltered in Your hiding place
My heart is now alive
The Rock, the Cleft here I will dwell
My hope You do revive
