Finding Home by Tina Gibson

In the crisp
of a mountaintop morning
where cell service
was sparse
and silence
drifted over my busy
like the aroma of coffee
before sunrise,
I hiked amidst
spurts of bird songs
sleepy eyes awakened
by His awesome.

Swinging my arms
forgetting my age
embracing His beauty
for joy doesn't wear a watch.

I danced
because surrender can't stand still.
I lingered
because life should not be rushed, anymore.
I listened
because there is learning in the leaning.
I looked up
because that is where my Help comes from.

I lost
my hurry
and
found
His Hallelujah.

No more wander.
Only Love’s whisper.
Welcome home, child.

I am a storyteller from way back
Slippers in every season
Coffee that looks like winter
Convinced that everything has a reason
Even when I don’t understand.

I am fewer days ahead than behind
Still growing
Wisdom seeker
Wisdom finder
Love matters more
God matters most.

Life is no longer all about me.

I am also a former marketing VP who delightfully traded her comfort in the corporate world for something way more amazing…the opportunity to share my writing to encourage another soul for Jesus through my blog posts as well as my poems and ponder.
