Fear by Kinsey Danielle

I just want to validate
that fear you feel
is rather real,
and does not make you any less—
in fact, the ones we deem “the best”
still battle fear like all the rest.

I just want to let you know
that bravery
fights fear, you see.
It’s not that fear does not exist—
but rather, you still choose to live,
and bravely store up love to give.

I just want to remind you
when you feel weak,
when hope seems bleak,
when fighting is hard, God is near—
his perfect love casts out all fear,
and gives you strength to persevere.

Kinsey is a 26-year-old aspiring writer, Pilates instructor, and counselor, having formerly taught English overseas and the sport of gymnastics throughout her college years. She has recently discovered her passion for writing poetry in her journaling and prayer life, as poetry helped her articulate the cries of her heart to the Father. In recent months, she has felt prompting from the Holy Spirit to share her poetry with others.
