Dusk by Caroline Liberatore

You descend heavy with evening

As firelight and cricketsong

Appearing, fading, reappearing

Rhythming firefly throngs.

Your dirt-stained muscles ease

Reclining within our midst

You are the coolness of the eve

Tucking the soil to rest.
