You, Cain by Justin Mason

The moment I had the thought, I saw from beginning to the end.

I didn’t have to look that far to see this. I didn’t have to wait that long to hear the innocent cry.

Look at yourself. You have your parents’ unrecognizable heart and their desire to cover. You look like the lion I gave you dominion over.

I could’ve stopped it. I could’ve stopped it before you. But you're not a plaything. We need to have something real, and you’re not ready.

So I won’t stop you, so you have to leave.

I know the number of times you and Abel will repeat this process throughout the years, and it will hurt like the first time, each time.

Despite that, I’ll still extend my hand to you, if you would have me. Because you’re not this monster, you’re my beloved--Cain.

Justin Mason is a graduating senior from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a major in English with a writing emphasis, who is originally from Los Angeles, CA. He was one of those kids that grew up in church but found God for himself as a young adult. God has really done a work in Justin, and he is excited to show the world what the Lord has done.
