To Love You, My Son by Louisa Saylor

Photography by Melanie Stevens

To love you, my son
Is to love the rugged mountains,
Strong you will be-
The mountains they are calling to me:
"Come adventure on my hills
And rough edges,
Be captivated by my slopes
And feel my strength".
So you, my son
Call to me to explore
The character of God
That is grafted into your being,
The rugged mountains
Of your one-day manhood.
