Steadfast by Kinsey Danielle

In the desert place,
where their hearts turned away,
your love stayed the same.
On the mountaintop,
where the sun became their god,
your love stayed the same.
Before the battlefield,
where they questioned if your love was real,
your love stayed the same.

The God you were then, you are now—
With the son by your side
wearing thorns for a crown.
Yes, the blood he shed
was enough to set me free.
With the saints I will sing—
my God loves me.

In the desert place,
if my heart turns away,
your love stays the same.
On the mountaintop,
if success becomes my god,
your love stays the same.
Before the battlefield,
if I question if your love is real,
your love stays the same.

The God you were then, you are now—
with the son by your side
wearing thorns for a crown.
Yes, the blood he shed
is enough to set me free.
With the saints I will sing—
my God loves me.

Kinsey is a 26-year-old aspiring writer, Pilates instructor, and counselor, having formerly taught English overseas and the sport of gymnastics throughout her college years. She has recently discovered her passion for writing poetry in her journaling and prayer life, as poetry helped her articulate the cries of her heart to the Father. In recent months, she has felt prompting from the Holy Spirit to share her poetry with others. She hopes the words formed from the depths of her heart during her time with God strengthen and encourage her readers.
