Speak Honey by Melody Lipford

Words darken the once, mighty flicker lighting my path.
Each syllable dims the light of its once held vision.
Joy dissipating, dripping, oozing out of the center of my heart.
Fear creeps in as harsh words pelt and puncture, breaking parts of my spirit.

Do we truly know that our words speak death?
Do we truly know how they can take away from life?

Pause, before opening your mouth.
Let each syllable be understood as you speak it.
Truly understand what you are saying…
And see if it leaves a sour taste or honey
in your mouth.

Any other taste besides honey
is soured milk.
No good, producing no joy.
Lacking good only creates more lack.
Speaking honey
produces an irrevocable, tangible
sweetness in one’s spirit.
Encouragement then passes from one soul to another.

Light starts to spark in the darkness.
Illuminating, brightening once unseen parts.
Revealing jewels of hope, charity, and love.
Ready to be given to those who are ready to receive it.
And in turn, willing to give the same to others.

Speak honey.
And see how it sticks
to the broken parts of one’s spirit.
Healing and mending the shattered pieces of old wounds.

Words renew or decay.
Honey lays a foundation of gold to pause.
Then, to look to the Father who is the most glorious of all.

Speak honey,
and see how it will transform and make you new.
Speak honey,
and see how it will transform and change others around you.
Speak honey.
and watch life blossom and bloom.
Speak honey,
and watch the darkness dissipate from the room.
Speak honey,
and let His peace invade your heart.
Then, He will make a forever room
through the Holy Spirit
and make joy your eternal home.

Speak honey.
