Rearrangement by Lee Kiblinger

My soul’s furniture
rearranges
on Sundays
after hymns float
inside stained windows,
resounding rainbows through
my dusty spirit;
ensconced confessions
lie heavy on couches
of conscience
and melodies
move ottomans
for footstools;
the lyrics of liturgies
enlighten lamps,
and supplications
split curtains
so that sunrises
gleam through
hardened glass
and truth
turns my chair
to face the shared table
of my spirit with His.

Lee Kiblinger is from Tyler, Texas and lives with her three beautiful teenagers and husband of over twenty years. She teaches high school literature and composition and currently spends her free time writing poetry.
