Imminent Return by Patrick Theron Erickson

The saying

nothing new

under the sun

is pertinent

Though there is one

enthroned above the sun

whose royal robe

glitters with stars

and whose splendid gown

is the backdrop

of his holy angels

and the divine drama

which makes dramatists

of us all

I am content

to recline at his feet

his footstool, yes,

and marvel anew

at his velocity

as I bid you all

Godspeed

and commend to you

his gospel

He’s coming soon!
