Five Haiku for an Ozark Spring by Ethan McGuire
Tree blossoms, heat breeze,
falling leaves, white water dream—
seasons never fail.
Lumbering storm clouds
rest palms of rain on the earth—
nature breathes anew.
A wrinkling mirror—
grass, dirt, and sky reflected—
I pray to God here.
Blackberry blossoms,
pink-white under bees—
rabbits look up longingly.
Dogwood trees bloom—
blackberries blossom and ripen—
snow melts in hollows.
