Deconstruction by Mary Anne Abdo

For I have wounds that are seen and unseen.

Hiding my visible scars due to my ego’s vanity.

Recalling the pain of how each one came to pass.

De-construct me Lord for ego and shame inhibit.

The true calling of my nature.

Hiding behind the false mask of security.

De-construct me Lord to dispel the falsehood of negativity.

For my inner scars run deep roots like the weeping willow tree.

Weeping over events that are not to be controlled.

De-construct me Lord so that the wounds of spirit can rise up.

To claim their true calling.

The calling to serve Your purposes as the actress in the present scene.

Enable me to throw away all pretenses of worldly ways and worldly means.

De-construct me Lord and build me up

Brick by brick filling in those cracks.

As You see fit.

So that I may be Your instrument on this earthly stage.

Making sure my actions are those of loving joy.
