Advent: by Emma McCabe

Walter Chavez

Can you picture it?

The inky black night in Bethlehem
The air of stillness in the silence
The rolling hills and pastures swaying under the stars

The piercing cry of a King newly born
The murmurs of joy from His exhausted parents
The triumphant cheers of the angels in Heaven above

The world changed in an instant, yet no one knew but a family of Three
Their Father above beaming down at them, knowing the story has just begun

Amongst the presents and parties and pastries--
Pause, breathe, remember.
Without this night in a barn, there is no Christmas.

Remember Advent.
